BTC showing safe-haven signs, holding up as stocks tumble on macro fears

0

Safe-haven asset?

The action is volatile, but bitcoin for the moment is continuing to hold just above the $70,000 even as other risk assets sell off across the board.

Helping to send stocks lower, crude oil prices are up more than 10% and nearing $100 per barrel amid concerns about the Hormuz Strait — a key shipping route for oil tankers.

“Stopping Iran is of more concern to me than oil prices,” said President Trump on Thursday. Meanwhile, in his first public statement since being appointed Iran’s supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei said the Strait of Hormuz should remain closed.

“It’s becoming clear to everyone that the Strait is far from under control and potentially impossible to control without severe concessions to Iran, boots on the ground, or huge military risks,” said Quinn Thompson, founder of Lekker Capital. “Things get dicey from here and when backs are up against the wall, volatility increases.”

Nearing the noon hour on the east coast, the Nasdaq is near session lows, down 1.6% and S&P 500 is off 1.2%.

Wiped from the front pages thanks to Iran, but still of major concern are continuing worries about a collapse in private credit. Morgan Stanley (MS) was the latest in a growing series of financial giants to cap redemptions — this one at its $8 billion North Haven Private Income Fund. Shares of Morgan Stanley were down 4% on Thursday, leading declines in the financial sector. JPMorgan, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo were lower by closer to 3%.

In private equity, KKR, Apollo Global, and Ares Management were all sporting 3% to 4% declines.

Gold, meanwhile, was down 0.6% and the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield was higher by three basis points to 4.23%.

Oil drives markets

Oil has become the main driver of crypto prices, according to CoinShares’ head of research, James Butterfill. “The dominant variable in global asset pricing is no longer the labour market. It is oil — and the geopolitical crisis underpinning it,” he said in a note. He argued that the government’s most recent U.S. payroll report, which missed expectations, would’ve normally pushed markets to price in faster rate cuts by the Federal Reserve, but the reaction was muted as investors instead focused on rising energy costs tied to the conflict in the Middle East.

Despite the pullback on Thursday, bitcoin has remained relatively resilient despite rising geopolitical tensions and broader market uncertainty, holding near the $70,000 level even as investors reassess global risks.

The reason could be that large investors are increasingly seeking more than simple exposure to bitcoin’s price, according to Dom Harz, co-founder of layer-2 blockchain BOB. “Institutions want more than exposure to bitcoin and are increasingly looking for the infrastructure designed to unlock Bitcoin’s financial utility,” he wrote in a note, pointing to growing interest in bitcoin-based financial applications that could allow users to spend, save and earn using the network.

JPMorgan sued over alleged $328M crypto Ponzi scheme tied to Goliath Ventures

0

JPMorgan Chase has been sued by investors in Goliath Ventures, with a proposed class action lawsuit alleging the bank ignored “red flags” that the allegedly fraudulent crypto pool raised and helped enable what the complaint describes as a $328 million crypto Ponzi scheme that affected over 2,000 people.

Filed in federal court in the Northern District of California Wednesday, the complaint claims Chase “provided the essential banking infrastructure through which the Ponzi scheme operated,” processing investor deposits, facilitating transfers and enabling payments that allegedly “created the false appearance of legitimate profits.”

Florida resident Christopher Alexander Delgado was arrested last month by federal authorities on wire fraud and money laundering charges tied to his operation of Goliath. That criminal case is in its early stages.

“Numerous red flags made the fraudulent nature of the scheme obvious and known to Chase,” Wednesday’s proposed class action claims. “Despite those red flags, Chase turned a blind eye and continued servicing the accounts used to perpetrate the fraud, earning substantial fees from the hundreds of millions of dollars it washed through Goliath and Delgado’s banking activities at Chase.”

A JPMorgan spokesperson toldCoinDesk that the bank would “decline to comment.”

The complaint, filed by Robby Alan Steele through his lawyers at Shaw Lewenz and co-counsel, states that JPMorgan was the sole banking institution for Goliath. It further states that approximately $253 million was deposited into a Chase account linked to Goliath between January 2023 and June 2025. Roughly $123 million was transferred from that account to crypto exchange Coinbase, while about $50 million was sent to investors as purported returns.

The lawsuit, which does not state a specific damages figure, repeatedly argued the bank should have spotted the alleged fraud from the flow of funds alone.

“From a bank’s perspective, the fraudulent scheme was obvious,” the complaint said. “A fraudulent scheme of this magnitude cannot be run surreptitiously through one bank.”

The suit also mentions JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon’s public criticism of cryptocurrencies, adding it contradicts the bank’s alleged conduct.

“Despite Dimon’s long history of criticizing cryptocurrency,” the complaint said, Chase “knowingly permitted a bank customer—Goliath—to commingle investors’ money at Chase” and use funds from later investors to pay earlier ones “in a classic Ponzi scheme fashion.”

5 Best Cryptos to Buy Now: Goldman Sachs Revealed as Largest XRP ETF Holder at $154M and BTC ETFs Hit $1.56B in March as Pepeto’s 100x Exchange Presale Captures What Goldman Trades

0

Goldman Sachs was revealed as the largest XRP ETF holder at $154 million while US spot Bitcoin ETFs pushed cumulative March inflows to $1.56 billion, with institutional buyers treating Bitcoin’s dip to $69,400 as an entry point. According to CoinDesk, only 15.9% of XRP ETF assets appear in institutional filings compared to 48.8% for Solana ETFs, revealing a clear hierarchy in where institutional conviction actually sits versus where retail narrative inflated expectations.

According to Bloomberg, when Goldman Sachs stacks $154 million in XRP ETFs and BTC ETFs pull $1.56 billion in March, every institutional ETF trade creates spot exchange volume. Pepeto’s presale at a fraction of a cent with $7.8 million raised from a $7 billion founder builds the exchange where every Goldman trade, every ETF creation, and every institutional rebalance processes across three blockchains.

5 Best Cryptos to Buy Now as Goldman and Institutional ETFs Reshape the Market

Pepeto: The 100x Best Crypto to Buy Now as Goldman’s $154M and $1.56B ETF March Create Exchange Volume

Goldman Sachs holding $154 million in XRP ETFs while BTC ETFs pull $1.56 billion in March proves that institutional capital is entering crypto through ETFs at unprecedented scale. PepetoSwap handles cross chain swaps, a bridge connects three major blockchains, and a full exchange approaches launch from a founder who built $7 billion. SolidProof audited every contract.

The $7.8 million that entered at a fraction of a cent while Goldman stacked $154 million in XRP is conviction from wallets that understand the best cryptos to buy now capture institutional ETF volume that Goldman’s billions create. For retail investors, Goldman deploys $154 million for 10% returns. PepetoSwap at a fraction of a cent offers the 100x that Goldman will never see because they arrived after the presale.

The best cryptos to buy now earn from Goldman’s trades rather than competing with Goldman’s capital. When institutional money stacks ETFs for modest returns, the exchange infrastructure that processes those trades captures the volume at a scale that presale pricing makes exponential.

Every dollar entering the presale pushes the floor higher mechanically. The entry gets more expensive daily because the pool of tokens at the current tier shrinks with every wallet that connects. That floor only moves in one direction. Explore the details on the Pepeto official website. Holders who positioned early are stacking 209% APY through staking while Goldman stacks $154M in XRP and BTC ETFs pull $1.56B and the exchange that earns from every institutional trade approaches the Binance listing.

XRP at $1.38 Benefits From Goldman Holdings but the $80B Cap Limits Institutional Returns

XRP trades near $1.38 on March 13 with Goldman holding $154 million in XRP ETFs. But at $80 billion, Goldman targets 10 to 12% returns. The best cryptos to buy now at a fraction of a cent capture what Goldman trades for modest returns. Exchange infrastructure at 100x from a $7 billion founder outperforms Goldman’s XRP play structurally.

BNB at $649 Proves Exchange Revenue but the $95B Cap Already Absorbed the Institutional Premium

BNB trades near $649 on March 13 with Binance’s ecosystem proving that exchange revenue works as a business model. Goldman’s $154 million validates exchange infrastructure. But at $95 billion, the repricing happened. The best cryptos to buy now captures the exchange model at presale pricing before the listing.

The Bottom Line

Goldman Sachs holds $154 million in XRP ETFs for 10% returns while BTC ETFs pulled $1.56 billion in March because institutional capital is settling into crypto permanently. Donald Trump to hold another Mar-a-Lago lunch for his token holders

0

Holders of the $TRUMP token will have another opportunity to dine with the U.S. President after the company behind the token announced a “gala luncheon” with Donald Trump set for late next month.

The luncheon, scheduled for April 25, comes just under a year after token holders were invited to a previous dinner with Trump. That one was open to the top 220 holders of the token, while this new one will bring in 297, with 29 invited to a VIP tour of Mar-a-Lago, the event venue, the issuer of the token said Thursday.

“Join 18 global giants at one of the world’s most historic residences… the exclusive members-only club, Mar-a-Lago,” the announcement said. “You’ll enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This event will be a memory you will talk about forever!”

Mar-a-Lago hosted a crypto conference put on by World Liberty Financial, another company co-owned by Trump and his family, last month.

The TRUMP token spiked briefly when the announcement came out, though the price fell back almost immediately. The token is trading at around $2.98, up about 2% on the day’s trading. The token’s volume is up to its highest level since Feb. 20, 2026.

The token’s price is still down significantly from its all-time high of over $46, and even down from the roughly $13 average it traded at during the last dinner announcement in April 2025.

That earlier dinner prompted Democratic lawmakers to lodge protests and raise concerns about Trump profiting off of his own crypto token while simultaneously championing legislation to support the industry and appointing regulators to oversee crypto. These concerns have, in part, delayed legislation sought by the crypto industry.

“GetTrumpMemes.com is not political and has nothing to do with any political campaign or any political office or governmental agency,” the website’s footer said.

“There will be no private meetings with the President and no solicitations.”

Strategy (MSTR) Bought Over 4,000 Bitcoin Today Via STRC

0

Strategy appears to have purchased more than 4,000 bitcoin on Thursday, according to estimates derived from real-time trading data and community tracking dashboards monitoring the firm’s preferred equity sales.

Data from STRC.live and market trackers suggests the purchases were funded through heavy issuance of the company’s Variable Rate Series A Preferred Stock (STRC), a perpetual preferred instrument that Strategy has increasingly used to raise capital for bitcoin accumulation.

By end of day in New York, trading activity implied the firm had already raised enough capital to acquire more than 4,000 BTC, marking the largest single-day bitcoin purchase funded through STRC since the instrument launched.

The surge follows unusually strong activity earlier in the week. On March 10, STRC recorded a record $409 million in daily trading volume while maintaining roughly 3% 30-day volatility and a one-month volume-weighted average price near $99.78.

On-chain indicators and community monitoring suggested that day’s activity funded the purchase of more than 2,000 BTC, already one of the largest one-day accumulations tied to the instrument.

Thursday’s pace easily surpassed that figure.

Strategy, already the largest public corporate holder of bitcoin, has increasingly leaned on its preferred equity program to finance additional acquisitions.

Earlier this year the company amended its at-the-market (ATM) program, allowing multiple agents to sell STRC shares simultaneously. The change increased liquidity in the instrument and made it easier for Strategy to raise large amounts of capital quickly, with proceeds directed toward bitcoin purchases.

Real-time dashboards tracking STRC trading attempt to estimate how many shares Strategy itself is issuing versus secondary market trades.

Because the company previously indicated it may sell shares when the price trades above its $100 stated amount, analysts can approximate capital raised when trading occurs above that threshold.

A recent SEC filing disclosed that the company purchased 17,994 BTC between March 2 and March 8 for approximately $1.28 billion. That acquisition lifted the firm’s total holdings to about 738,731 BTC, representing roughly 3.5% of bitcoin’s circulating supply.

The filing showed the purchase was funded through a combination of $377.1 million in STRC sales and $899.5 million raised through common stock issuance.

Based on those figures, STRC accounted for about 29.5% of the funding for that five-day accumulation period, equivalent to roughly 5,300 BTC acquired through preferred share sales.

If Thursday’s estimates prove accurate, the day’s purchases alone could exceed the average daily bitcoin acquisition pace seen during that earlier buying window.

The data remains unofficial. Strategy typically confirms purchases later through SEC filings or public disclosures.
