Google’s Celo Sepolia Testnet Faucet Adopts Self Protocol’s ZK Identity Verification

Google Cloud has integrated Self Protocol’s zero-knowledge (ZK) proof-of-humanity into its Web3 faucet for the Celo Sepolia testnet. The integration intends to curb automated abuse and redirect test tokens toward verified developers.

The integration, now live, embeds Self’s identity verification process directly into the faucet workflow.

The Google Cloud faucet provides web3 developers with free tokens for deploying, testing, and optimizing smart contracts on popular testnets like Holesky and Sepolia.

Developers seeking testnet tokens can confirm that they are real individuals over the age of 18 without disclosing personal information such as their date of birth or country of residence.

The verification relies on zero-knowledge proofs, allowing eligibility to be established without revealing underlying data.
